Goodbye Little Mark

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

When my family decided to enroll in our state's foster-adoption program we knew that someday we might have to say goodbye to one of the little ones whom we would care for. Nevertheless, when the day came to say goodbye to little Mark, it was like losing a loved one. We had him for almost a year to the day, and I think we'd all say that we didn't realize how much we loved him until we had to say goodbye.

It is now, in these hours of pain that I feel the true joy and contentment of Christ. That joy and contentment that come only from dwelling in the place where the will of God is first and utmost in my life. It is a comfort to know that everything that happens is within His holy plan, and that He will work everything out for the good of those who love Him.

So with that my friends I ask you to pray for our dear little Mark, that he would acclimate to his new family and new surroundings quickly and with little pain. Thank you for your loving thoughts and prayers for my family as well. I pray that through it all our God would get all of the glory, honor and praise.

Dearest Rachel Grace,

I will certainly be praying for your dear family and for sweet little Mark. I cannot imagine how hard it must've been to let him go, although God has a wonderful plan for both him and your family! I am sure you made so many happy memories with him, and just think how greatly you have blessed little Mark!
Continue to shine your light for Him... May the Lord bless and comfort your family!

Your Sister In Christ,
Jenna

Rachel Grace,
I received your letter yesterday and I was so encouraged and inspired by it {once again}. I'm praying for you, dear friend, as you remember all of those wonderful memories with little Mark. I'm sure your family impacted his life greatly and I'm sure you miss him. So true when you said, "...that we didn't realize how much we loved him until we had to say goodbye." May the Lord bless you through this time. The Lord is faithful and works everything together for good to those who are called {Rom. 8:28, as you shared}. I'm sending my love and a hug your way, sweet friend! I'm sure you miss Mark so much and I'm praying for you! Keep trusting in our loving Savior!

Blessings!
Elizabeth
P.S. So many sweet photos! The first two were especially sweet. =)
